The vehicle was first registered for civilian use in March 2025 as a special vehicle equipment vehicle.
It is in very good condition for its age and is practically rust-free.
A H-type approval would be possible by the end of next year.
There is no loose firefighting equipment.
The body is 4,700 mm long; a 5 m box body would be easily possible.
Included in the offer is an original MB engine control unit with the software for the 530 hp / 2300 Nm power level, which can be swapped "plug-and-play" with the 440 hp control unit. This means the vehicle corresponds to the maximum configuration available in the SK.
The long axle ratio of i=4.572 results in good highway revs. With the original tires, it is 1,700 rpm at 90 km/h; with 14.00R20 tires, 1,500 rpm at 90 km/h would be possible.
Since no technical modifications have been made since decommissioning, both continued use as a fire department vehicle and conversion to a touring vehicle are possible.
The requirements for a touring vehicle / expedition vehicle / expedition mobile / Exmo are ideal, as
- Euro II engine -> trouble-free use of low-grade fuel with high sulfur content
- Exceptionally high engine power and long axle ratio: contemporary, very high performance on a car level with a pleasant noise level
- Six-speed automatic transmission for completely stress-free driving in city traffic and smooth gear shifting off-road
- Short double cab and 4.1 m wheelbase allow for a 5 m body length
- High-quality, frame-integrated 5 t cable winch from HPC
